If you look up the definition of “giver” in the dictionary, you would find a picture of Toni. She approaches her work with enthusiasm and a can-do attitude that inspires confidence in those around her. For three years she was the person responsible for on-boarding new staff in the Office of Academic Affairs at UW Bothell, where Toni nurtured a positive culture that encouraged questions and where help was always available. It often seems there is nothing Toni doesn’t know, from how to input a complex OPUS entry to where to purchase the best cake for a celebration. People regularly seek her guidance when navigating difficult personnel issues, and always turn to her in moments of crisis. In just a few short years she has become a repository of institutional knowledge, and is valued as a resource far beyond her home unit.
Giving doesn’t stop at the borders of Toni’s work-life; she is a loving wife and mother to two wonderful boys. Her weekends are full of basketball and baseball, neighborhood block parties, and creative outings with her family; she is on the go from sun-up to sun-down.
Toni is a woman worth celebrating. She leads by example, and creates community wherever she goes.
