Alexis Lee

I have only known Alexis for a few months now, but I don’t think I have meet many more people who are as positive, funny and friendly as Alexis. I have the emense pleasure of working side by side with Alexis and each time I work with her it is always a great experience. She is hard working and dedicated at her job and in her friendships. The positivity that she shows day in and day out can’t help but spread. For all these reasons I think she completely merits being nominated as an Outstandinng UW Woman, and in fact I think she embodies what the nomination stands for.

Alexis is a Resident Adviser in Haggett Hall.  As an RA, Alexis works closely with a floor of UW students.  She serves as a resource for them, helping them through any personal or academic issue they may have.  She helps them create connections with both the campus community, and with other students on her floor and in the building.  She hosts social events for her residents, working hard to make sure that each resident feels valued, included, and connected during their time at UW.  In this way, Alexis’ contributions to the University of Washington are significant.  Many students have Alexis to thank, in part, for their ability to be successful at the UW.  In addition, Alexis also coordinates the social media efforts of Haggett Hall.  She works hard to keep residential students engaged online and informed of upcoming events and relevant information.  This year, Alexis spearheaded the “Humans of Haggett” online campaign, which has grown into a popular and creative way to showcase Haggett residents and further build community within the building.  Alexis is a dedicated leader in her community who is always available and accessible to those who she serves.  She greatly deserves this recognition.
