Eryca Benson

Eryca is a Resident Adviser in Haggett Hall.  As an RA, Eryca works closely with a floor of UW students.  She serves as a resource for them, helping them through any personal or academic issue they may have.  She helps them create connections with both the campus community, and with other students on her floor and in the building.  She hosts social events for her residents, working hard to make sure that each resident feels valued, included, and connected during their time at UW.  In this way, Eryca’s contributions to the University of Washington are significant.  Many students have Eryca to thank, in part, for their ability to be successful at the UW.  Eryca’s floor is composed of students who elected to live in a community of others who commit to living a substance-free lifestyle.  Eryca engages her residents in meaningful conversations about what substance-free means to them, and what they want their special community to look and feel like.  Because of Eryca’s efforts, her residents have made excellent connections with like-minded individuals—connections that are certain to outlive the short year residents will spend on her floor.  Eryca also is responsible for making informative bulletin boards for Haggett’s main level common areas.  Eryca has worked extremely hard to create relevant, eye-catching content that engages and informs Haggett residents.  Her efforts have been rewarded with a well-deserved campus-level award for passive programing.  Eryca is a caring leader, and greatly deserves this recognition.
