Mayelee Watts

Mayelee is a Resident Adviser in Haggett Hall.  As an RA, Mayelee works closely with a floor of UW students.  She serves as a resource for them, helping them through any personal or academic issue they may have.  She helps them create connections with both the campus community, and with other students on her floor and in the building.  She hosts social events for her residents, working hard to make sure that each resident feels valued, included, and connected during their time at UW.  In this way, Mayelee’s contributions to the University of Washington are significant.  Many students have Mayelee to thank, in part, for their ability to be successful at the UW.  In addition, Mayelee serves as the liaison between her RA staff and Haggett’s Hall Council – two groups which operate separately, yet are both responsible for developing a strong sense of community within Haggett.  In her role as liaison, Mayelee takes on the great task of attending all Hall Council meetings, helping significantly with their events, and ensuring that her fellow staff members are adequately supporting Hall Council and are in touch with what the organization is working on.  Mayelee is a dedicated leader in her community who is always available and accessible to those who she serves.  She greatly deserves this recognition.
