Yoshi Ueda

Yoshi Ueda has worked with the University of Washington Upward Bound Program (affiliated with the Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity) since 2008. More recently, she has taken on additional responsibilities with the University of Washington Math and Science Upward Bound Program. For both programs, Yoshi works tirelessly as the Program Coordinator. Serving both low-income and first generation high school students, Yoshi has played an important role in helping these students get to college. By coordinating logistics, supporting staff instructors and students, and planning various program outings (including the Pacific Science Center, Bite of Seattle, Pack Forest, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation), Yoshi has done a fantastic job of contributing to the program’s success and helping students reach their personal and professional goals. Coordinating one summer program is busy enough, but Yoshi is now doing the work of two—an amazing accomplishment that deserves to be recognized. Aside from this, Yoshi loves watching “New Girl” and “The Mindy Project”, traveling, attending music festivals and concerts, and eating delicious food (most notably Chipotle). She is a former University of Washington student who holds a B.A. in Communications.
